Address Format Validation

Addresses in enneo must have the following format to ensure correct delivery of outbound letters by post

Overview

This guide explains the address formats supported by the system. For proper validation, addresses must contain a valid postcode followed by a town name on the same line.

General Address Structure

  • Rule 1: Must have between 3 and 5 lines
  • Rule 2: The last or second last line must contain a valid postcode followed by a town

Typical Structure of a Full Address

3-line format (Minimum)

Postcode Line Requirements

The postcode line must follow this format:

[Postcode] [Town Name]

The postcode must be followed by at least one space, and then the town name.

  • Format: 4 digits + 2 letters (with or without space)

Important Notes

General Requirements

  1. In the event of a comma existing in an address line, such as "Max Mustermann, Marina Mustermann" or "Max Mustermann, ABC Street 1", replace a comma with a new line - therefore please use commas accordingly.
  2. Empty lines are removed.

Postcode-Specific Requirements

  1. Spaces: A space must follow the postcode before the town name.
  2. Town Name Requirement: A town name (or any text without spaces) must follow the postcode.
  3. Uppercase/Lowercase: Formats with letters (UK, Netherlands, Ireland) expect upper-case letters.
  4. Complete Lines: The entire postcode and town must stand on the same line.
